Services: Traffic Analysis & Design Services

Dawood's Traffic Department consists of a team of planning, permitting, and engineering experts whose experience ranges from transportation feasibility and sizing studies to comprehensive transportation studies that meet local, state, and federal requirements. Our top priority is to approve timelines by having a firm understanding of project goals and objectives, and by providing regulatory planning and design submittals that are comprehensive and of superior technical quality which provide practical, creative, and responsive solutions.

Downtown & Neighborhood Revitalization
Dawood's staff has partnered with local communities to develop plans that enhance the fabric of downtown business districts and neighborhoods. Our designs pay close attention to pedestrian/bicycle safety, pollution and noise control, and traffic flow speeds. Our goal is to help preserve historic features, increase business exposure, and protect the well-being of the local residents.

Access Management Permitting
Dawood's goal is to minimize disruption to through-traffic, while providing reasonable access to new developments. Dawood's Traffic Department understands the balance in providing a right-sized traffic improvement to meet the needs of the owner and the traveling public.

As evidence of our permitting abilities, our staff is regularly called upon to prepare highway occupancy permit (HOP) plans. Our streamlined plan preparation process is geared to expedite permit approval. Dawood's varied experience with development communities, agencies, and municipalities provides a diversified perspective in engineering applications.

Traffic Impact Studies
Traffic impact studies (TIS) are prepared to determine the impact a certain type and/or sized development will have on the surrounding transportation system. At Dawood, our staff's focus is to develop the TIS as an integral part of the land development process and to provide sound design solutions.

Traffic Signal Design
Dawood's staff possesses the experience to evaluate a project from its earliest stages of scoping and design to construction and final inspection. This process is accomplished by preparing traffic signal warrant analyses, capacity analyses, and traffic signal permit applications; developing traffic signal permit plans; preparing construction plans; and completing traffic signal inspection. Our staff of professional traffic engineers, designers, and signal inspectors ensures that projects are completed to the owner's scope and detail.
